BiographyCharles Vaughan KREEFT, widowed husband of Annie Henrietta (known as Nettie) was a civil servant for more than 40 years, working for Treasury and then the Department of Land & Income Tax. In his younger days he was a well-known sportsman, a member of Wellington Football Club and Wellington Cricket Club. Newspaper reports noted that he had been "a fast bowler and an aggressive batsman", who represented Wellington at provincial level. The NZ Times said that he had been ill for some time, and died at his home in Abel Smith Street.
