Also Joseph Ralph, son of the above, died 10 December 1916, aged 59. A devoted son.

BiographyFrederick RENNER, born in England in 1824, was an experienced sea captain who travelled the seas with his wife Janet (Moffatt), before eventually settling in Wellington in the 1850s. Involved in coastal shipping, Capt Renner (on Wonga Wonga) rescued 50 of the 70 survivors of the wreck of the Orpheus in Feb 1863. He died in Apr 1883 when the Hannah Barrett capsized in heavy seas.
