BiographyGeorge Henry TRIBE died at his home in Willis Street on 19 Mar 1877, after a long illness. A member of the MHR, he represented the Totara district in Westland for three terms. Having arrived in Canterbury in the 1850s, he moved to the West Coast goldfields for a time before coming to Wellington. He was also a former editor of the Wanganui Chronicle. He is survived by a widow but no family. [Evening Star, 20 Mar 1877]
