Celebrate the founding of Wellington on our Anniversary holiday, and explore the stories of some of our early settlers – the rich, the famous, and the ordinary folk who arrived in Wellington in 1840 and the years immediately after, and set about developing new lives, laying down the foundations of our city.

This tour traverses the lower part of the cemetery, includes some of the earliest burials, and is easy walking. Tour duration 1.5 hours, starting and ending at the Bolton Street Cemetery Museum, lower Bolton Street. Cost $10 per person, children under 12 free, and good dogs on leads always welcome.
