Spring tours in the Cemetery

There will be two opportunities to join a guided tour of the Bolton Street Cemetery in September, as part of the WCC Spring Festival. Choose between Sunday 22 September at 2.00pm or Thursday 26 September at 5.00pm. Meet at the Seddon Memorial entrance (end of Kinross Street). Cost: $5 per person.

Self-guided ANZAC Tour

The Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery will be offering you a chance to explore the Cemetery on your own, using our leaflet to help you locate the fifteen graves which commemorate the sixteen Wellingtonians who served in the First World War.  Available soon, in time for ANZAC Day!

Spring Tour

The Friends offered a guided tour, Murder & Mayhem, on Friday 2 October, as part of WCC Spring Festival. This event drew about 60 people, interested in hearing some unusual stories behind the brief inscriptions on headstones, revealing sudden deaths, murders and accidents.

New President Elected

At the AGM of the Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery on 23 June, Jenny Button was elected president. She takes over from Priscilla Williams, who has been president of the Friends since 1995. Priscilla will now be vice-president.
